The #Baghdad_Women_Association’s Listening and Consulting Center in Dohuk-Siji on May 28, 2019 distributed items produced by the cash-for-work activities, held under the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and host communities” in Iraq, to inmates at the Women Correctional Facility in Dohuk.
The products that included handicrafts and clothing items produced by the project, implemented with the support of UN Women and the European Trust Fund (Madad), were distributed to 43 women and girls.
During the visit to distribute the products, the BWA team discussed the possibility of holding activities at the correctional facility for inmates, who include Syrian refugees, displaced people and members of the host community. Proposed activities include organizing social and psychological support sessions and studying legal referrals.
